No. At Simplr we do not encourage the traditional model of consumption based on "manufacturing products, selling them, and then abandoning them in a wardrobe to throw them away when they are no longer needed". Quite the contrary. We start from the basic sustainable principle of the circular economy, where Simplrs physical products (vehicles, furniture, electronics, etc.) are reused as much as possible until they reach the end of their lifetime. Do not worry, when you deactivate a product another person or company will reuse it.

Once you have subscribed to a product or service, it will automatically appear in My Simplr, which is your personalized subscription dashboard. My Simplr encompasses all your active and inactive subscriptions. You can turn every subscription on and off easily. My Simplr is a seamless way of gaining control over your recurring spendings, and it offers a uniquely useful way to manage your subscription bills.

Why should I subscribe instead of buying?

What is the carbon footprint generated by electronic products?

The carbon footprint is used as a sustainability indicator through which we can quantify, evaluate and monitor the impact that organizations or individuals have on the environment, and their contribution to climate change. Through this indicator, we measure the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that are produced and released into the atmosphere during the manufacturing process of different electronic products. Greenhouse gasses (GHG) are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxides, CFCs and ozone.

How do we calculate the carbon footprint?

It is becoming increasingly common for organizations to report the carbon footprint derived from the manufacturing of their products e.g. Apple, HP, Lenovo. Based on the data provided by these organizations, Simplr calculates the CO2 corresponding to each product during on a monthly basis.

How do we offset our carbon footprint?

All the products that we offer in our marketplace through the subscription model are assigned the amount of CO2 emissions that corresponds to them per month, according to the total amount derived from their production. The total amount of CO2 emissions is calculated for each product, according to the months that the product has been used through the subscription with Simplr. To offset the carbon footprint, we will purchase the related amount of carbon credits through one of our certified sustainability partners and at the end of each month the user will receive a certificate corresponding to the compensation made for the product.
